Mobile Çanakkale Museum Draws Huge Crowd in Manavgat

Manavgat Mayor Şükrü Sözen recently visited the Manavgat Municipality Side Youth Center and Children’s Cultural Center alongside the students. During the visit, Sözen emphasized the importance of honoring the martyrs and veterans, particularly Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the eternal Commander-in-Chief. He also highlighted the significance of the Çanakkale battle, describing it as an epic that represents the sacrifices made by previous generations for the independence of the homeland and nation.

Sözen stated, “We are committed to instilling a sense of independence in our youth, and we are undertaking various initiatives in Manavgat to achieve this goal.” In line with this commitment, the municipality is hosting an exhibition featuring nearly 1000 original items from the 109-year-old Dardanelles Battles. These items include weapons, clothing, flashlights, and instructional paintings, as well as symbolic tombstones honoring the martyrs from the Antalya region.

The exhibition has already reached 15 million students and boasts a unique war material called “Poisonous Star,” which is being displayed for the first time in the Çanakkale Museum. This museum, which is Turkey’s and the world’s only traveling museum, operates under the slogan “Çanakkale Not One Day, but Every Day.” It is set to be in Manavgat from December 18th to 23rd, allowing local residents to immerse themselves in the historical significance of the Çanakkale battle.
