NASA Prepares to Send Turkey’s First Astronaut into Space
Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3) to Include Turkey’s First Space Traveler Alper Gezeravcı
The Axiom Mission 3 (Ax-3) is set to make history by including Turkey’s first space traveler, Alper Gezeravcı, as part of its crew. The mission is scheduled to move to the International Space Station (ISS) with its crew, with the launch planned to take place at 01:11 on the night between January 17 and January 18.
NASA has announced the schedule of the Ax-3 crew’s journey to the International Space Station, which includes a series of educational and media events leading up to the launch. An educational in-flight event for the Emblem Academy in California will be held tomorrow, followed by a press conference by NASA flight engineers. Additionally, a media teleconference is scheduled for Wednesday, January 17, and an ISS Expedition 70 flight event in Denmark for the European Space Agency (ESA) and the World Wildlife Fund will also take place on the same day.
The launch of Ax-3 is expected to take place at 01:11 on the night between January 17 and January 18, with the docking with the International Space Station scheduled for Friday, January 19, at 13:15 Turkish lira. The crew will then participate in a welcoming program after the hatch is opened.
