Sivrihisar Municipality in Eskisehir Organizes Commemoration Program for Earthquake Victims
The Sivrihisar Municipality in Eskisehir, Turkey, recently organized a festival to commemorate the victims of the earthquakes that struck Kahramanmaraş on February 6th. The festival, which has become a tradition in Kahramanmaraş, took on a special meaning this year as it paid tribute to the earthquake victims.

Hiranur Doğray, a 9-year-old girl, emerged as the winner in the girls’ category, while Yusuf Kılıç, an 11-year-old boy, won in the boys’ category.
During the festival, the Mayor of the Municipality, Yüzgüllü, distributed gifts to the students who participated in the event. In a statement to the press, Yüzgüllü mentioned that they had allocated a specific budget for the earthquake zone, demonstrating their commitment to providing support and assistance.
Nasreddin Hodja Ömer Özgeneci, the representative of the municipality, also highlighted that this year marks the 815th anniversary of Nasreddin Hodja’s birth in Sivrihisar. This significant milestone added to the importance of the festival and emphasized the rich cultural heritage of the region.
