Exhibition “Proliferates by Sharing” Features Works of Artists from 11 Countries
An exhibition titled “Proliferates by Sharing” is currently being held as part of the 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Turkey. The event, organized in collaboration with the Nicosia Turkish Municipality (LTB) and Kyrenia Municipality, showcases the works of 91 artists from 11 different countries.
Painters from TRNC, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Iran, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Armenia, Netherlands, Venezuela, and England have come together to convey a message of peace and love through their paintings. This collaborative project not only presents an opportunity for artists to exhibit their work but also promotes cultural exchange and understanding among nations.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition took place at the Bedesten, where a minute of silence was observed. Gülsün Karadayı, the TRNC Representative of Another Peaceful World is Possible Platform, expressed her joy at being able to attend the event alongside artists who are spreading messages of peace to the world on this significant milestone of the Republic’s centennial anniversary.
Halil Öztunç, one of the platform managers, emphasized the artists’ desire to contribute to the creation of a world that can live in everlasting peace through their artworks. He highlighted the importance of the exhibition in countering the traumas experienced in the world today, and the pride felt due to the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey.
Mehmet Harmancı, the President of LTB, expressed his pride in hosting artists from various parts of the world at the Bedesten. He also paid tribute to the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on this momentous occasion. Harmancı acknowledged the presence of several prominent female artists in the exhibition and underscored the significance of preserving democracy, secularism, and peace. He emphasized the need to promote art, flowers, and peace, even in the face of those who brandish weapons, by upholding the motto “Peace at home, peace in the world.”
Following the speeches, the exhibition was officially opened and visitors began exploring the diverse artworks on display. The event offers an opportunity for art enthusiasts to engage with different artistic perspectives while fostering a sense of unity and peace among nations.
