New Safe Housing Project Completed by Ministry Institution – Latest News
Following a devastating earthquake in the city center of Kahramanmaraş, the Ebrar Site faced significant destruction, with many citizens losing their lives in the 8-9 storey blocks. In response to this tragedy, the Ministry of Environment, Urbanism, and Climate Change initiated reconstruction efforts in 11 provinces, with a focus on rebuilding the Ebrar Site.
Utilizing innovative engineering techniques, Emlak Konut GYO mobilized all resources to construct 32 blocks of housing and workplaces in the region. Extensive floor improvements were made, with thousands of floor improvement stakes utilized to ensure safety and stability. The construction process, which operated around the clock, was completed within a year, resulting in 775 independent sections, including businesses and housing units.
Real Estate Planning Application Manager Tacettin Şeker emphasized the quality and trust embedded in the new project, highlighting the use of advanced engineering methods and the tunnel mold system in construction. The result is a new living space with a more horizontal architecture, providing residents with a safe and modern environment.
Reflecting on the completion of the project, Minister Murat Kurum expressed gratitude and pride in the new, safe, and comfortable houses that now stand in place of the Ebrar Site. Despite the lingering pain of the disaster, he reaffirmed the government’s dedication to healing and rebuilding for the nation’s welfare.
Residents such as Gulseren Aksu and Fatih Güneşli shared their astonishment at the swift reconstruction process, which far exceeded their expectations. Selma Zencir, who previously called the Ebrar Site home, expressed her joy and appreciation for the beautiful new surroundings, praising the environmental enhancements and greening efforts that have transformed the area.
In the face of tragedy and loss, the completion of the housing project in Kahramanmaraş serves as a beacon of hope and resilience, symbolizing the collective efforts of the government and the community to rebuild and move forward.
