Philippines Hit by Another Magnitude 7 Earthquake
A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 hit the Philippines yesterday, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS). The earthquake occurred off the eastern coast of Mindanao Island at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers underground. Although no tsunami warning was issued after the earthquake, aftershocks with magnitudes greater than 5 were recorded.
Shieldon Isidoro, President of the Disaster Mitigation Agency, reported that one person died as a result of the earthquake.
