A disturbing incident occurred on Izmir Street when Muzaffer G, who was walking his Pitbull dog, allowed it to attack a stray cat. Pitbulls are among the species banned from production, sale, and exchange in Turkey, making this act a violation of the law.
After the cat was fatally injured in the attack, Muzaffer G kicked his dog despite the outcry from onlookers who captured the incident on a mobile phone. Following a report to the District Police Department, Muzaffer G was apprehended by law enforcement.
Muzaffer G now faces charges for violating the Animal Protection Law No. 5199 and will be brought before the courthouse to answer for his actions. Animal rights advocates are calling for justice to be served and for stricter enforcement of laws protecting animals from harm.
