BRTK Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Media-Inspired Painting Exhibition
The Mevhibe-Mustafa Başman Foundation sponsored a painting exhibition entitled “Media in the World You Imagine” to commemorate the 60th anniversary of BRTK. The event was held at the HD Exhibition Hall of the BRTK Broadcasting History Museum, and awards and participation certificates were presented during the exhibit. Visitors can view the exhibition until July 14th.
The winners of the competition were announced as follows: Alya Karatepe, Günay Gökçe Malyalı, and Yağmur Çınarlı won in the primary school category, with Aren Arnavutoğlu and Erdal Arslan Toptas receiving honorable mentions. Arınç Okur, Ela Bahar Çamlıbelli, and Hayal Bulutoğlu were the winners in the secondary school category, while Alişa Pars received an honorable mention. Seycan Narçın, Nil Yaşarcan, and Mehmet Can Konmaz were declared winners in the high school category, with Lavin Tunay receiving an honorable mention. In the special education category, Nazlıcan Koç, Hasan Karahüyük, and Süleyman Topaloğluları were the winners, and Fatma Okur received the Special Jury Award.
Certificates of participation were awarded to children who couldn’t attend the award ceremony, along with “first step to art” certificates to 188 children whose paintings were not part of the exhibition. These certificates will be presented at schools, starting from the Kyrenia region on June 6th.
The exhibition celebrates BRTK’s 60th anniversary and showcases the creativity of young artists in Northern Cyprus. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the role of media in the world today and the impact it has on the younger generation.
