President Aliyev and First Lady attend inauguration ceremonies in Shusha

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and First Lady Mehriban Aliyeva attended several inauguration and groundbreaking ceremonies in the city of Shusha on May 9th. President Aliyev opened the Innovative Technologies Center of Shusha Electric Networks, which is owned by “Azerishig” OJSC. He also unveiled the board with the “Ataturk Street” sign.

During the visit, the head of state was briefed on the works to be carried out in the streets of Garabagh and Sadigjan. President Aliyev laid the foundation stone for a non-residential building and opened the plaques at the intersection of the streets of Molla Panah Vagif and Panahali Khan.

President Aliyev visited Mir Mohsun Navvab Garabaghi’s tomb, which has been restored by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, in the Jidir Duzu plain. The Heydar Aliyev Foundation also carried out restoration work on the Mehmandarovs’ Estate Complex in Shusha, which the President and First Lady attended the inauguration of.

Lastly, the President and First Lady were also updated on the works to be carried out in the square in front of an administrative building of the Special Administration. This visit comes as Azerbaijan continues to rebuild and restore Shusha, which was liberated from Armenian occupation during the Second Karabakh War in 2020.
