Kyrenia Municipality Announces 6th Story Competition for Middle School Students
Kyrenia Municipality has announced the 6th Story Competition for 6th, 7th, and 8th-grade students with the theme “I Think of a More Livable Kyrenia.” The competition aims to engage youth in envisioning a better future for the city.
The announcement was made during a press conference held by Kyrenia Mayor Murat Şenkul, who emphasized the importance of the youth in shaping the future of the city and the country. He expressed the municipality’s commitment to creating a more prosperous and livable city while also seeking the input and ideas of young people.
Cengiz Topel Uzun, Director of the Secondary Education Department at the Ministry of National Education, also spoke at the event, highlighting the significance of collaboration between the ministry, local governments, institutions, universities, and non-governmental organizations in fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment among young people.
The deadline for submitting entries to the short story competition is currently set for December 20th, although it may be extended to a later date. The competition provides an opportunity for middle school students to showcase their creativity and contribute to the vision of a more livable Kyrenia.
The initiative by Kyrenia Municipality reflects a commitment to engaging young people in the development and future of the city, recognizing their role as vital stakeholders in building a vibrant and sustainable community.
