Azerbaijani Sources Report 613 Killed and 487 Injured in Khojaly Massacre
According to Azerbaijani sources, a tragic event unfolded during the final attack in Khojaly, resulting in a total of 613 people losing their lives. Among the victims were 83 children, 106 women, and over 70 elderly individuals. In addition, 487 people sustained injuries during the attack.
Official sources have also stated that 1,275 individuals were taken hostage by Armenians, while 150 people remain missing, adding to the devastating toll of the incident.
This appalling massacre has been described by human rights monitoring organizations as the largest civilian tragedy following the occupation of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Despite the passage of 32 years since the Khojaly tragedy, no one has been held accountable for the heinous act. The event is referred to as the “Khojaly tragedy” or “Khojaly genocide” in Azerbaijan, while it is known as the “Khojaly incident” in Armenia.
The lack of justice for the victims of the Khojaly massacre remains a painful reminder of the need to address past atrocities and ensure accountability for such horrific acts.
