Renowned Writer Mario Levi Passes Away at 66
Mario Levi, a well-known writer and communication instructor, has passed away at the age of 66. The news was announced by Buart Art Atelier on social media, expressing deep sadness over the loss of their dear teacher and the emotional and powerful writer of their literature.
Levi, who has written numerous works including “Istanbul Was a Fairy Tale”, “Our Most Beautiful Love Story”, “Not Being able to Go to a City”, “Amusement Park Closed”, and “I Made You a Sponge Cake”, was known for his deep connection to the city of Istanbul. In an interview with Anadolu Agency three years ago, Levi spoke about how Istanbul has always been a source of inspiration for him, even during its worst times.
Born in Istanbul in 1957, Levi graduated from Saint Michel French High School in 1975 and later from Istanbul University with a degree in French and Roman Philology in 1980. He wrote his first story in 1975 and went on to contribute articles to various publications such as Hokka magazine, Şalom, Cumhuriyet Newspaper, Cumhuriyet Magazine, Studio İmge, Günde, Milliyet Sanat, Argos, and Oksijen.
