Restrictions imposed on illegal migrants in Russia: No marriage or access to banking services
Illegal migrants in Russia will face new restrictions on their ability to access basic services, according to a recent statement by the First Deputy Interior Minister of Russia, Alexander Gorovoy. In an interview with Kommersant newspaper, Gorovoy announced that a register of foreigners staying in the country illegally is being created, and those included in it will be limited in various ways.
These restrictions will prevent illegal migrants from getting married, using banks, accessing public services, registering property, driving vehicles, and enrolling their children in kindergartens and schools. The goal of this initiative is to better track and monitor the activities of illegal migrants in Russia.
The implementation of this project will involve interdepartmental electronic communication with organizations that provide the mentioned services. The First Deputy Interior Minister also expressed the need for support from the Russian Ministry of Digital Development and the technical services within the internal affairs bodies to effectively carry out these restrictions.
This move is part of Russia’s efforts to crack down on illegal migration and ensure that only those with proper documentation are able to access essential services within the country.
