Revive Cultural Tourism through Intermediate Holidays
As schools closed for the holidays, families decided to turn this into an opportunity for a vacation by contacting travel agencies. Some preferred a domestic cultural tour, while others chose to go abroad to visa-free destinations. According to tourism expert Ali Onaran, demand has significantly increased for domestic regions such as Cappadocia and the Black Sea, as well as visa-free regions like the Balkans. Currently, cultural tours can cost around 3000-4000 TL per person for a 4-5 day holiday. The South East Anatolia region has struggled since the earthquake, but tourism professionals are working to revive the region. Kuşadası Mayor Günel also announced that the city is ready for the upcoming tourism season.
