Reykanis Volcano Erupts Again, Prompting Evacuations
The early warning system was put into action just minutes before Reykanis Volcano in Iceland erupted with lava. Local residents were alerted through automatic messages, allowing them to evacuate in a timely manner.
Approximately 4 thousand individuals had recently returned to their homes on February 19 following the previous eruption last month. Unfortunately, they were now asked to evacuate their village once again as a precautionary measure.
Despite the volcanic activity, it was stated that air traffic was not affected. Additionally, scientists confirmed that a helicopter had been dispatched to the area to closely monitor the flow of lava.
