Russian and Belarusian Athletes Cleared for 2024 Olympics by IOC
Athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete at 2024 Paris Olympics in neutral status
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has announced that athletes from Russia and Belarus will be allowed to compete at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris in a neutral status. This decision was made by the IOC’s executive committee and comes with certain conditions.
According to the organization’s website, only athletes from individual sports will be able to take part in the Games. However, those who publicly support the invasion of Ukraine and who have a valid contract with the armed forces will not be allowed to participate in the Olympics.
Additionally, none of the officials and sports officials of Russia and Belarus will be invited to the Olympics.
The 2024 Olympics are scheduled to be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11. This decision provides an opportunity for athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete on the international stage while ensuring that the games remain free from political influence.
