South Korea’s First Spy Satellite Captures High-Resolution Image of North Korea – Late-breaking World News

South Korean Military Sources Receive Good Resolution Photos from Spy Satellite

Recently launched spy satellite from South Korea has already started sending back “good resolution” images, according to military sources. The satellite, which was launched on December 1, 2023, has captured images from various parts of the country, including the capital city of Pyongyang in North Korea.

An unnamed military member revealed that the satellite images show clear views of Pyongyang’s center and the ships in its ports. He mentioned, “Looking at the satellite photos that were recently transmitted and edited, it seems that the resolution is as good as expected.”

While the first set of photographs may need some editing, the military sources are optimistic about the increasing image quality in the future. The satellite is expected to be fully operational for its reconnaissance mission by June or July as planned.

The spy satellite was carried into space by the “Falcon 9” rocket, made by the US-based space company SpaceX. South Korea has ambitious plans to launch four more spy satellites by 2025, expanding its surveillance capabilities even further.
