Spider-like Structures found on Mars
News from the European Space Agency (ESA) has revealed a fascinating phenomenon on Mars caused by a rise in temperature during the spring season. Hundreds of spider-like formations have appeared on the Martian surface, stretching from 45 meters to 1 kilometer in width.
These spider-like structures are created when high-pressure jets of material shoot to the surface, spreading outwards and resembling the legs of a spider. Scientists believe that these formations are the result of carbon dioxide ice melting on the Martian ground due to the sun’s rays, which then turns into gas. This gas interacts with the surface, producing dark-colored substances such as soot that can be seen from above.
The images of these spider-like formations were captured by ESA’s Gas Tracing Satellite (TGO) and Mars Express satellite, providing valuable insights into the unique geological processes occurring on the Red Planet.
