Support for Young Couples: Free Nursery for Working Parents to Boost Population
The Turkish government is taking crucial steps to address the declining fertility rate and support families in the country. According to a report by CNN Türk, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz emphasized the importance of implementing effective measures to combat the decreasing number of marriages and declining birth rates.
Yılmaz warned that if action is not taken to boost fertility rates, it could lead to significant problems in various sectors such as employment, social security, the economy, and defense. In response to this pressing issue, the government has declared the year 2025 as the “Year of the Family” and established the Population Policies Board to develop strategies to increase the fertility rate.
One of the key measures being considered is providing support to young couples to encourage marriage and childbearing. This support includes financial assistance, marriage counseling, and social housing programs that prioritize first-time homebuyers. Additionally, there are discussions about expanding credit opportunities for young couples in certain provinces.
Moreover, the government aims to create more flexible and remote work options for women to alleviate the burden of balancing work and childcare responsibilities. This includes implementing new work models, increasing maternity leave, and expanding access to affordable childcare services.
The upcoming Family Year Promotion Meeting, expected to be attended by President Erdoğan, will provide more details on the government’s plans to support families and address the declining fertility rate. These initiatives are crucial for ensuring the well-being and future prosperity of Turkish families.
