The Country’s Best Etrap Receives President of Turkmenistan Orient Award
Sakarchage Etrap Awarded 1 Million US Dollars for Excellence
Yesterday, the Dovletli zaman settlement of Sakarchage etrap in Mary velayat was the site of an awarding ceremony where 1 million US dollars was presented to Sakarchage etrap, recognized as the best etrap in the country in 2024 across all indicators.
This annual competition aims to encourage the social and economic development goals of the country and improve living conditions in the regions. The Sakarchage etrap achieved high social, economic, and cultural indicators in the year of “The Fount of wisdom of Magtymguly Fragi” – celebrating the 300th birthday anniversary of the great Turkmen poet.
At an enlarged meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on February 7 to discuss the results of the national economy in 2024, the President of Turkmenistan signed an Order announcing Sakarchage etrap of Mary velayat as the winner of the 2024 competition. The etrap’s khyakimlik was awarded a cash bonus of 1 million US dollars, and a new competition for 2025 was announced among etraps and cities with the rights of the etrap.
Under the leadership of the President, the development of the country and Ashgabat city on a competitive basis continues to be successful. The festive event saw the gathering of deputies, members of various organizations, businessmen, and representatives of different sectors, adding to the celebratory atmosphere.
The President’s message emphasized the growth of entrepreneurship activity in the region, located along the Great Silk Road, and known for its cultural-historical monuments and natural beauty. The achievements in manufacturing high-quality, non-polluting products, and improving services for the population reflect the favorable economic conditions and create opportunities for investments.
Following the successful implementation of large construction projects in the country, modern villages and cities were constructed in Sakarchage etrap, including the opening of a new mosque in Shatlyk city. The programs for social and economic development in the region focus on building schools, kindergartens, sports complexes, and modern residential houses.
Private entrepreneurs play a significant role in the rapid development of the etrap, supporting the construction of cultural, social, and industrial facilities. Agriculture in the region receives comprehensive state support, with investments in machinery and infrastructure upgrades. The success in increasing cattle and camel numbers reflects a successful state policy supporting private manufacturers.
The ceremony concluded with heartfelt congratulations to the inhabitants of Sakarchage etrap for their victory and gratitude expressed to the President for creating conditions for their success.
