Fatih Sultan Mehmed, also known as Mehmed the Conqueror, was one of the most notable leaders in Ottoman history. Born in 1432, Mehmed ascended to the throne at a young age, following the death of his elder brother, Prince Alaeddin Ali Çelebi.
Mehmed’s upbringing and reign were marked by significant military conquests and political achievements. He is best known for capturing Constantinople in 1453, a momentous event that marked the end of the Byzantine Empire and the beginning of the Ottoman Empire.
Aside from his military prowess, Mehmed was also a family man.
