THY General Manager Ekşi announced 2 flights from the Middle East to Rize
The ‘Middle East Tourism Summit’ held in Rize saw the announcement of exciting news for the region. Turkish Airlines (THY) General Manager Bilal Ekşi revealed plans to start 2 charter flights a week from selected countries in the Middle East to Rize-Artvin Airport.
Speaking at the summit, Ekşi expressed his enthusiasm for the new initiative, stating, “We worked with our Middle East domestic sales president and airport manager to make this happen. We decided to allocate 2 charter flights a week to Rize by pushing all our conditions. Our friends worked on this issue and gave us confirmation. We will have started the process with 2 charter flights per week from the specified countries in the Middle East.”
Rize Governor İhsan Selim Baydaş also highlighted the growing tourism potential of the region, especially noting the increasing interest from guests hailing from the Middle East and Gulf countries. He emphasized Rize’s unique appeal, stating, “Rize, with its lush green nature, is one of the rare cities where both nature, water sports, and winter sports can be done in the same geography.”
The announcement of the new flights comes as a boost for Rize’s tourism industry, with hopes that other airlines will also follow suit in establishing charter flights to the region. The move is expected to bring in more resources and opportunities for Rize, catering to the increasing demands from travelers looking to explore this picturesque destination.
