“Allegra Ensemble Group to Perform Concert in Northern Cyprus as part of the Republic’s 100th Anniversary Celebrations”
As part of the ongoing celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of Turkey, the “Allegra Ensemble Group,” an artistic representation of the State Opera and Ballet under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will be giving a concert at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center tomorrow.
This special concert is part of the extensive program organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, in collaboration with the Turkish Embassy in Nicosia, Nicosia Embassy Development and Economic Cooperation Office, and Nicosia Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Center. It aims to commemorate the Turkish Century with exclusive and comprehensive events.
The “Allegra Ensemble,” meaning the “Joyful Ensemble,” has been enchanting audiences since 2005 with a diverse repertoire of folk songs, tango, classical jazz pieces, and various other music genres. Comprised of professional and academic staff, the group showcases the talents of musicians playing the violin, viola, cello, flute, percussion, and piano. This ensemble is well-known for their unique performances that incorporate a mixture of classical western music instruments with musical examples from different genres such as world music, musicals, fado, classical jazz, tangos, and folk music.
The concert in Northern Cyprus will be attended by Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Gökhan Yazgı, who is expected to participate in various official events and engage in official contacts during his visit to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as part of the ongoing 100th anniversary celebrations of the Republic of Turkey.
