Tragic Racing Car Crash Claims 7 Lives in Sri Lanka – Last Minute World News
A tragic incident occurred during a motor sports event in Sri Lanka, resulting in the deaths of 7 people and injuries to 23 others. The incident took place at the “Fox Hill Super Cross 2024” event organized by the Sri Lankan army in Diyatalawa town.
According to reports in the Daily Mirror Sri Lanka newspaper, a racing car crashed into the audience while the race was in progress. Police spokesman Nihal Thalduwa confirmed that among the victims were 7 individuals, including an 8-year-old child.
Following the accident, a rapid response was initiated with a large number of police and medical teams arriving at the scene. The 23 individuals who were seriously injured were swiftly transported to Diyatalawa State Hospital for emergency medical assistance.
