Tragic Tunnel Collapse in Bayburt: 1 Dead, 3 Injured
A tragic incident occurred last night during the construction of the Kop Tunnel in Bayburt, resulting in one fatality and three injuries. The tunnel, which aims to connect Bayburt and Erzurum, experienced a partial collapse for reasons that are still unclear.
The workers affected by the collapse, identified as HD, MA, A.Ö., and Mustafa Bayramoğlu, were trapped under the rubble until emergency services were alerted. Upon receiving the notification, gendarmerie, AFAD, and health teams quickly responded to the scene.
The injured workers were rescued from beneath the rubble and promptly transported to Bayburt State Hospital for treatment. Tragically, despite all efforts to save him, Mustafa Bayramoğlu succumbed to his injuries. The medical teams continue to provide care for the remaining injured workers.
A thorough investigation has been initiated to determine the cause of the collapse and to prevent such incidents in the future.
