A new photography exhibition titled “Before the Traces Are Erased” will showcase the preserved Ottoman-Turkish artifacts in the south of Cyprus. The exhibition, organized by the Union of Turkish Cypriot Municipalities in collaboration with the Union of Turkish Municipalities, aims to document and highlight the historical significance of these cultural works before they disappear.
The exhibition is set to open in Ankara on Thursday, January 4, and will be held at the Service Building of the Union of Municipalities of Turkey. The opening ceremony, scheduled for 19.00 Turkish time (TSI), will be officiated by President Ersin Tatar and Vice President of the Republic of Turkey, Cevdet Yılmaz. The event will also be attended by mayors from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and Turkey, as well as artists who have contributed to photographing the works.
This exhibition serves as an important opportunity to celebrate and preserve the rich heritage of Ottoman-Turkish culture in Cyprus, and it also highlights the ongoing efforts to safeguard these historical artifacts for future generations. The event is expected to draw a significant amount of attention from art enthusiasts, historians, and the general public interested in the cultural heritage of the region.
