UNRCCA’s Academy of Preventive Diplomacy Opens Admissions for 2025 Orient Program

The Academy of Preventive Diplomacy of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) has officially opened admissions for the year 2025. This program is tailored for young individuals between the ages of 18 and 29 from Central Asia and Afghanistan who are eager to enhance their skills in the realm of preventive diplomacy. It offers a unique opportunity for participants to expand their knowledge and leadership abilities.
The curriculum of the program will cover essential topics such as conflict prevention, intercultural communication, human rights, and the role of youth in combating violent extremism. The bulk of the instruction will be delivered online, requiring a reliable internet connection.
Interested candidates have until March 10, 2025, to submit their applications. Along with a designated application form, applicants must provide a motivational letter of no more than 300 words responding to the question: “What interested you in the Academy of Preventive Diplomacy?” Additionally, they are expected to create a brief video (60-90 seconds) on the theme, “Why am I a suitable candidate for the APD program?”
Selection into the program will be competitive, with evaluation criteria including academic/professional background, demonstrated experience in social work/volunteerism, creative abilities, and English language proficiency at a minimum B2 level.
Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will join the existing interregional network of Academy of Preventive Diplomacy alumni and participate in events organized by UNRCCA and other United Nations entities.
