Uzbekistan Prepares to Celebrate Eid al-Adha in June
The Uzbek President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has signed a decree determining the date for the celebration of Eid al-Adha this year. According to the document, Eid al-Adha will be celebrated on Sunday, June 16. However, as the first day of the holiday falls on a weekend, the holiday will be officially observed on Monday, June 17. Additionally, Tuesday, June 18, will be designated as an additional day off for all employees.
Local administrations, responsible ministries, and departments have been tasked with ensuring that Eid al-Adha is celebrated in accordance with the national traditions and customs of the Uzbek people. They have also been instructed to create favorable conditions and opportunities for organizing pilgrimages to shrines and historical places.
This decree aims to facilitate the observance of Eid al-Adha and to ensure that the holiday is celebrated in a manner that is respectful of Uzbek traditions and customs. Let us all come together to celebrate this important religious holiday in unity and harmony.
