Uzbekistan’s Textile Exports Reach $1.5 Billion in the First Half of 2024

The latest data released by the Statistics Agency of Uzbekistan reveals that the country’s textile industry continues to thrive, with exports reaching $1.5 billion in the first half of 2024. This figure accounted for 11.8% of the total exports during this period, highlighting the significant contribution of the textile sector to the country’s economy.

The composition of the exported textile products was dominated by finished textile products and yarn, which together held the majority share. Finished textile products accounted for 38.1% of the total exports, while yarn made up 46.2%. Other categories such as knitted fabric, fabrics, and hosiery products also made significant contributions to the export figures.

During this period, Uzbekistan exported textile products to a total of 55 countries across the globe, demonstrating the global reach of its textile industry. The breakdown of the exported textile products includes $708.6 million worth of yarn, $584 million of finished textile products, $144.1 million of knitted fabric, $75.1 million of fabrics, and $20.5 million of hosiery products.
