Victory Dictation Campaign Held in Ashgabat

International Educational Campaign "Victory Dictation" Held in Ashgabat

On April 25-26, 2025, Ashgabat served as the backdrop for the international educational and patriotic campaign known as "Victory Dictation," as reported by the Russian Embassy in Turkmenistan. This significant event attracted over 150 participants, including schoolchildren and students eager to engage in a collective remembrance of historical events.

Participants faced a challenging set of 25 questions pertaining to key milestones of the Great Patriotic War, with each question providing four multiple-choice answers. A special highlight was the emphasis on Turkmenistan’s invaluable contributions to the war effort. It was noted that approximately 300,000 Turkmen citizens participated in combat, with 130,000 being awarded orders and medals. Among them, 104 were honored with the title of Hero of the Soviet Union, and 15 achieved the prestigious status of full holders of the Order of Glory.

At the conclusion of the campaign, all participants received certificates recognizing their involvement in this important international initiative, underscoring the event’s educational significance.

This year, "Victory Dictation" was celebrated at over 27,000 locations across Russia and in 60 countries worldwide, uniting individuals of various nationalities and ages in a shared commitment to honoring the heroic legacy of the past. To facilitate global participation, the dictation questions were translated into eight languages, including English, Chinese, and French, enabling people from diverse backgrounds to test their knowledge of the crucial events that unfolded between 1941 and 1945.

The campaign not only served as a platform for education but also reinforced a collective memory, ensuring that the sacrifices made during World War II are recognized and remembered for generations to come.
