Visa-Free Travel for Chinese Citizens to 6 Countries

China has announced that it will be allowing visa-free travel to six additional countries in an effort to boost tourism. The new policy will allow citizens from France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, and Malaysia to visit China for up to 15 days for business and tourism purposes without the need for a visa.
This decision comes after China previously only allowed visa-free travel for citizens of Singapore and Brunei. The one-year trial program is set to last until November 2024, with the hope that it will promote development in the country and remove quarantine requirements imposed during the coronavirus pandemic.
Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson Mao Ning emphasized that this move is part of the government’s efforts to stimulate growth and increase tourism following the strict lockdown measures implemented during the pandemic.
This new policy is expected to have a positive impact on tourism and business interactions between China and the six included countries. Visitors from these countries will now have easier access to explore the rich culture and history of China, as well as engage in business opportunities without the hassle of obtaining a visa.
