Water Conservation through Rainwater Harvesting
Title: Rainwater Collection System Implemented in Tekirdağ to Meet Environmental Regulations
In order to comply with the regulations set by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the implementation of rainwater collection systems has been made mandatory for buildings to be constructed on parcels larger than 2 thousand square meters in Tekirdağ. This initiative has led to the establishment of warehouses ranging from 75 to 150 tons in over 200 sites across the city.
The introduction of rainwater collection systems has not only ensured compliance with environmental regulations but has also resulted in significant water savings in building projects. The adoption of this system has been instrumental in achieving water conservation, setting a positive example for future construction and development projects in the region.
Moving forward, it is imperative to expand the implementation of rainwater collection systems to other areas in order to achieve significant overall water savings and contribute towards sustainable environmental practices. With the success of this initiative in Tekirdağ, it is hoped that similar measures will be adopted in various other regions to further promote responsible and efficient water usage.
