Workplace Robbery: Camera System Stolen to Cover Tracks
Thieves Steal 400 Thousand Liras Worth of Goods in Istanbul
A daring robbery took place on Thursday, October 3, in the Merkez Habibler District of Istanbul. Two hooded thieves, who had allegedly scoped out the area beforehand, managed to break into a workplace used as a warehouse and office by jumping over the garden wall. The perpetrators spent about an hour and a half inside the premises, stealing a significant amount of electronic items and construction materials.
In addition to the stolen goods, which were estimated to be worth around 400 thousand liras, the thieves also made off with the security camera system to cover their tracks and leave no evidence behind.
Their bold robbery attempt did not end there, as they also tried to steal a parked truck near the workplace. However, their plan was foiled when they realized the truck had no diesel fuel and they were unable to move it.
Once the robbery was reported, police quickly sprang into action and began investigating the security camera footage from nearby businesses. It was discovered that the thieves had fled by jumping over a cemetery wall after committing the crime.
Authorities are currently working on identifying and apprehending the suspects involved in this brazen theft. The incident serves as a stark reminder for businesses to ensure they have adequate security measures in place to protect their valuable assets.
