10th Telsim Freezone High School Music Competition Final Set for April 18th

The Telsim Freezone High School Music Competition is set to take place once again, celebrating its 10th year in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education and Telsim. This annual event aims to provide a platform for high school students to showcase their musical talents and express themselves through art.

This year, a total of 29 groups from 25 high schools will be participating in the competition under the theme “Discover the Talent Within”. With a record number of 215 students and 35 teachers taking part, the Inter-High School Music Competition promises to be a vibrant and exciting event.

Scheduled for April 18 at Nicosia Atatürk Indoor Sports Hall, the competition will feature various categories such as Best Orchestra, Best Stage Performance, Best Instrument Awards, Best Female Soloist, Best Male Soloist, Ekrem Yeşilada Special Award, and Best Super Performance. A total of 16 awards will be given out, including the coveted Cool School Award.

The jury panel for this year’s competition includes renowned musicians and performers such as Erkan Erzurumlu, Fikri Karayel, Miray Çakır, Oytun Küskü, and Ziya Başkal. The event will be hosted by Eda Kandulu and Yaşar Köroğlu.

Fevzi Tanpınar, Deputy General Manager of Telsim, expressed his excitement for the upcoming competition, highlighting the importance of providing a platform for young talents to shine. In the 10th High School Music Competition, a diverse range of high schools will be represented, including Nicosia Anatolian Fine Arts High School, Güzelyurt Kurtuluş High School, Girne American College, Turkish Maarif College, Near East College, and many more. Each group will bring their unique talents to the stage, showcasing the diversity and creativity of young musicians in Northern Cyprus.
