17-Year-Old School Principal Attacker Wanted for Arrest – Last Minute Turkey News
An Iraqi high school student has been arrested for the murder of a principal at a private high school in Istanbul’s Eyüpsultan district. The 17-year-old suspect, identified as YK, allegedly entered the principal’s office and shot him three times before fleeing the scene.
The victim, İbrahim Oktugan, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries but unfortunately did not survive. YK was apprehended by the police shortly after the incident and taken into custody.
According to reports, YK had been expelled from school due to disciplinary issues in the months leading up to the attack. The suspect has a criminal record, including charges of negligent injury and other crimes.
Following police procedures, YK underwent a health check and was taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan. After providing a statement to the prosecutor’s office, he was referred to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty with a request for arrest on the charge of premeditated murder.
