38 Children in Gaza Denied Dialysis for Kidney Failure

Israeli Attacks Leave Hospitals Out of Service in Gaza

The spokesperson of the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, Ashraf al-Qudra, revealed at a press conference that hospitals in the blockaded Gaza have been rendered out of service due to Israel’s attacks. Rantisi Children’s Hospital, the only dialysis center for children in the city, is among those affected.

Al-Qudra stated that the medical services for children were stopped at Rantisi Children’s Hospital and Nasr Children’s Hospital due to lack of fuel. The intensive care and nursery were only kept operational by a small generator. As a result, 38 children receiving dialysis treatment at Rantisi Children’s Hospital were deprived of vital services.

The health sector in Gaza has suffered significant damage, with 195 health personnel losing their lives, 51 ambulances becoming unusable, and 130 health institutions being damaged. Additionally, 18 hospitals and 46 health centers are currently out of service.

The armed wing of Hamas, the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades, launched an attack on October 7 in response to Israel’s continuous violations against Palestinians and their sacred values, specifically Masjid al-Aqsa. In retaliation, the Israeli army initiated heavy air strikes against the Gaza Strip.

Israel reported over 1,400 deaths, including 352 soldiers, and 5,132 injuries since the beginning of the attacks. On the Palestinian side, the Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed 10,812 deaths, including 4,412 children and 2,918 women, along with 26,905 injuries.

In addition to the attacks in Gaza, 181 Palestinians were killed by Israeli forces and Jewish settlers in the West Bank and Jerusalem. Moreover, hospitals in the area, including Shifa Hospital and Nasr Children’s Hospital, were hit, resulting in casualties and forcing evacuations.

The conflict has also escalated between the Israeli army and Hezbollah, with 63 Hezbollah members and 4 Israeli soldiers reported dead in clashes since October 8.

The situation in Gaza and the surrounding areas remains dire, with hospitals and health facilities bearing the brunt of the attacks. As the conflict continues, the international community is urged to intervene and work towards achieving a peaceful resolution to prevent further loss of life and devastation.
