Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy to Star in ‘The Magic Faraway Tree’ Project
Andrew Garfield and Claire Foy, the talented duo who captivated audiences in the 2017 movie “Breathe”, are set to reunite for a new film project. This time, they will be leading the cast in the film adaptation of Enid Blyton’s beloved children’s novel “The Magic Faraway Tree”.
In the upcoming movie, Garfield and Foy will portray a modern family comprising Polly and Tim, along with their children Beth, Joe, and Fran. The family is depicted as relocating to rural England, where they embark on a magical journey in an enchanted forest with a colossal and mystical tree. The tree’s branches reach up to the clouds, while its trunk shelters carved houses. Here, the children befriend locals and embark on enchanting adventures in various magical lands accessible from the tree’s top.
The highly anticipated project is set to commence filming next month, with the support of Neal Street Productions, Elysian Film Group, and Ashland Hill Media Finance. Casting for additional roles is currently underway.
The script for the film will be penned by Simon Farnaby, known for his work on “Wonka” and “Paddington 2”, while Ben Gregor will take on the directorial duties. The production will be helmed by producers Pippa Harris, Nicolas Brown, Danny Perkins, and Jane Hooks.
