CIOFF Northern Cyprus Submits Documents to Member Festivals at BRTK
The International Union of World Folk Dances and Traditional Arts Organization (CIOFF) recently presented CIOFF recognition certificates to its member festivals in Northern Cyprus and TRNC.
According to a statement from Iskele Municipality, CIOFF Northern Cyprus, headquartered in Iskele Municipality, held a certificate presentation ceremony at Iskele AKM. The event was attended by officials from Iskele Municipality Folk Dances Community, International FOGEM Summer Joy Children’s Folk Dances Festival, International Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Municipality Golden Grape Folk Dances Festival, International Tatlısu Municipality Folk Dances Festival, and MEB International 23 April Children’s Folk Dances Festival.
During the ceremony, Özlem Kadirağa, the Director of the İskele Municipality Folk Dances Ensemble and President of CIOFF Northern Cyprus, presented a certificate to the Iskele Municipality Folk Dances Ensemble. Additionally, Gülgün Dargın, the Administrative Responsible of Iskele Municipality, received a certificate on behalf of the folk dance team.
CIOFF Northern Cyprus President Özlem Kadirağa, along with Mehmetçik Büyükkonuk Mayor Fatma Çimen Tuğlu, also attended the ceremony. Mayor Tuğlu received the certificate on behalf of the folk dance team and was recognized for her contribution to the logo works of the CIOFF Mediterranean Countries Folk Dance Festival, which took place on the Corfu Island of Greece last year.
The CIOFF certificate presentation ceremony served as a celebration of the rich folk dance traditions in Northern Cyprus and TRNC, as well as a recognition of the festivals that are dedicated to preserving and promoting these cultural arts.
