Cyprus, Istanbul, and Me: A Poetry Collection by Canev Dinçer
The presentation of Canev Dinçer’s poetry book titled “Cyprus, Istanbul and My Catharsis” and the poetry recital with music were recently held at Rüstem Bookstore, where President Ersin Tatar and his wife Sibel Tatar, along with former Speaker of Parliament and one of the prime ministers Sibel Siber, attended the event sponsored by Bellapais Inner Wheel Club.
During the event, a musical poetry recital took place after the speeches, and Canev Dinçer signed copies of his book for the guests. Dinçer generously donated the proceeds from the sale of 450 books to the Bellapais Inner Wheel Club to support their educational project.
President Tatar expressed his admiration for Canev Dinçer, highlighting the importance of Turkish Cypriots coming together, regardless of where they are located. Tatar emphasized the unity and love for Cyprus among Turkish Cypriots, praising Dinçer for his contributions to the community and the future generations.
The Term President of the Bellapais Inner Wheel Club, Berin Avunduk, expressed her gratitude towards Canev Dinçer for his generous donation and commended his literary work. Prof. Dr. Umay Türkeş Günay and Retired Teacher Gülgün Serdar also praised Dinçer’s book for its artistic and emotional depth, reflecting on the significance of Cyprus in Turkish Cypriot identity.
Further analysis of Dinçer’s poems was provided by Prof. Dr. Oğuz Karakartal, who highlighted the nostalgia and love for Istanbul present in his verses. Dinçer himself shared the inspiration behind his poems, describing them as a catharsis of emotions and a reflection of his love for his homeland and the memories it holds.
