Ender Saraç Faces New Sexual Abuse Allegations in Court: Latest Decision Revealed – Last Minute Turkey News
The trial of renowned dietitian and nutritionist Ender Saraç, who has been accused of sexually abusing his 13-year-old child from his wife Benan Saraç, continued in Istanbul.
During the hearing at the Istanbul 34th High Criminal Court, the defendant Ender Saraç, along with his lawyers, Benan Saraç, the complainant, and the lawyer from the Ministry of Family and Social Services were present.
Benan Saraç, in her statement at the hearing, mentioned that she did not witness any act of sexual abuse by the defendant towards their son. She initially did not believe her son when he disclosed the abuse, attributing it to his anger towards his father due to their ongoing divorce proceedings.
Benan Saraç shared that her son had wanted to go to school on the day he was supposed to be on sick leave, and it was the school counselor who raised concerns about the abuse with her. Despite not filing a complaint about the abuse, she eventually had to take action after her son confessed the truth to her.
Ender Saraç, on the other hand, denied the allegations of violence against his son, claiming that the accusations were false. He stated that he only took his child to the bathroom when needed and rejected the claims of walking around the house naked.
The court, upon hearing the arguments, decided to appoint a representative trustee for the victim child under the age of 15, as the mother did not file a complaint. The next hearing was postponed to allow the child to be heard.
Representative trusteeship, as explained by the court, is appointed when a person is unable to carry out a specific task on their own, and there is no one else available to perform the task for them. In this case, the representative trustee was assigned to ensure the child’s interests are protected during the legal proceedings.
