Erzincan Hosts Snowboard Türkiye 2nd Stage Championship
The Turkish Ski Federation has kicked off the ‘Snowboard Turkey 11-15 and 15+ Championship’ at the Erzincan Ergan Mountain Ski Center as part of its 2024 activities. The competition has attracted 253 athletes from 19 provinces, who are vying for medals in the 11-13-15 and 15+ age groups.
Bülent Demirel, the Ski Federation Erzincan Provincial Representative, expressed his satisfaction with the event, stating, “We are holding the 2nd stage snowboard races in the activity program of the Turkish Ski Federation. Our tracks are very suitable for this. The competitions continue successfully. On the occasion of the 106th anniversary of the liberation of Erzincan, we organize the championship in our city. I thank the Ski Federation.”
Athletes participating in the competition also shared their positive experiences. Demir Akçalı, representing the Uludağ Ski and Snowboard Club, praised the tracks at the Ergan Mountain Ski Center, while Efe İldeş highlighted the excellent race conditions.
The championship is a testament to the growing popularity of snowboarding in Turkey, as well as the country’s commitment to promoting winter sports.
