The investigation into the chain called Maydonoz Doner, which has branches all over Turkey, and its alleged ties to the FETÖ organization continues to unfold. A total of 353 suspects were detained in operations conducted in 31 cities based in Antalya. New details have emerged regarding the operation, shedding light on the organization’s alleged involvement in the doner restaurant chain.
According to statements obtained during the operation, individuals affiliated with the organization were reportedly selected to work in managerial positions within the doner restaurant chain, despite previous legal proceedings and the offer of incentives such as extra income. However, these individuals did not benefit from the effective regret provisions within the scope of the FETÖ investigation.
Furthermore, confessions made by former employees have revealed undisclosed shareholders within the organization, including public personnel and individuals with questionable backgrounds. The investigation also uncovered complaints filed with Cimer regarding alleged irregularities in capital increase and partnerships within the chain.
One former employee, identified as R.Ö., disclosed that he had firsthand experience with informal shareholders and witnessed rapid growth within the organization. He also mentioned that employees were pressured not to disclose information about their legal proceedings and affiliations with the organization.
Another employee, EK, shared his experience of starting as a waiter and eventually being appointed as a responsible party in multiple branches, only to be dismissed after his affiliation with the organization was revealed. These testimonies shed light on the intricate web of relationships and hidden agendas within the Maydonoz Doner chain.
As the investigation unfolds, 353 individuals, including 10 public personnel, are currently in custody in connection to the case. The Interior Minister, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed the arrests and reiterated the government’s commitment to combatting any illegal activities linked to terrorist organizations.
