Imported Car Inspection Time Cut to 15 Minutes — UzTest

UzTest Announces Changes to Technical Inspection Procedure for Imported Vehicles

UzTest, the Center for Scientific Testing and Quality Control in Uzbekistan, has recently announced a revision to the procedure for the technical inspection of imported vehicles. This revision includes a new limitation on the number of slots an individual applicant can book in the electronic queue for the testing ground, as stated in a press release from UzTest.

Since November 18, applications for vehicle inspections have been accepted through the Unified Portal of Interactive Public Services. Slots for inspections are assigned through an electronic queue that is linked to the applicant’s Personal Identification Number (PINFL).

One of the main reasons for this revision is to address the issue of some applicants booking multiple slots for the same type of vehicle and then not showing up at the testing ground at the scheduled time. This practice has caused disruptions in the electronic queue system, according to UzTest.

To prevent this from happening, a new procedure will be put in place where only one slot in the electronic queue is allowed per PINFL. Applicants will only be able to submit a new application after the previous slot has been used, with any unused applications automatically deleted from the system.

In addition to the changes in the booking system, UzTest also plans to reduce the time needed for each inspection from 20 to 15 minutes by hiring additional staff. This adjustment is expected to increase the number of vehicles that can be tested per day from 72 to 96.

Furthermore, since November 1, the technical inspections of vehicles imported to Uzbekistan are now carried out at the UzTest testing ground in Piskent rather than on customs premises. These changes have caused significant queues, with car owners reporting wait times of several days. UzTest attributes the queues to “seasonality and an increase in import volume.”

Overall, the new changes implemented by UzTest aim to streamline the process of technical inspections for imported vehicles and reduce waiting times for car owners in Uzbekistan.
