Israel Army Radio Reports Unsuccessful Egyptian Ceasefire Efforts
Egypt’s attempts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Palestinian groups in Gaza have failed for the time being, according to a statement from the Israeli army radio’s social media account. It was reported that Egypt had proposed a temporary ceasefire, which was being evaluated by both parties. However, no agreement was reached. Israel had launched an attack on Gaza earlier this month, targeting the executive staff of the Islamic Jihad Movement. The strikes claimed the lives of 33 Palestinians, including six children and three women, while 93 others were injured. In response, Palestinian groups fired hundreds of rockets and mortar shells towards Israel, resulting in tensions escalating between the two sides.
