Israel Ceases Land Attack in Lebanon amid Escalating Tensions
Hezbollah Repels Israeli Invasion in Southern Lebanon
Israel faced a setback in Lebanese territory during a land invasion it initiated early on Tuesday, October 1. According to Al Jazeera correspondent Imran Khan, reporting from the Hasbaya district in Southern Lebanon, Hezbollah forces thwarted Israeli ground troops attempting to enter Lebanon through certain border areas.
Hezbollah, believed to have tens of thousands of fighters and a substantial arsenal of missiles, demonstrated superior knowledge of the region, making it challenging for Israeli troops to advance. Despite lacking artillery or anti-aircraft weapons, Hezbollah’s field expertise played a crucial role in repelling the invasion attempts.
Throughout the night, sounds of artillery fire could be heard from the border as Israeli occupation forces made repeated efforts to infiltrate Lebanon, only to be pushed back by Hezbollah each time. In the current situation, Israel’s ground offensive in southern Lebanon has come to a halt, with Hezbollah showing confidence in its position.
Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the deaths of 17 Israeli soldiers within a few hours, detailing 32 attacks carried out on Israeli troops in a single day. The Lebanese group emphasized that the occupational forces suffered significant losses, particularly as a result of detonated mines.
In a report titled “Lebanon hell,” Al-Meyadin television, known for its alignment with Hezbollah, disclosed that a combination of old and newly placed mines caused casualties among Israeli soldiers. Despite constant surveillance by Israeli drones, traps were successfully laid out, resulting in casualties among the occupation forces.
The clashes in border villages such as El Adise and Marun er Ras intensified, with Israeli soldiers targeted by missiles as they prepared for an attack in the southern border area. The Israeli army confirmed the death of nine soldiers in Lebanon so far, acknowledging the challenges they face in the ongoing conflict.
