Consular consultations between the Kyrgyz Republic and China focus on visa regime liberalization
Bishkek – On March 20, 2024, consular consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the People’s Republic of China took place in the Chinese city of Qingdao. The discussions involved crucial consular issues related to cooperation and joint efforts on various aspects of interaction between the two countries.
One of the main topics of the conversation was the visa regime liberalization between Kyrgyzstan and China. Both parties stressed the importance of simplifying and expediting visa issuance procedures for citizens of both countries. This move aims to strengthen tourism, business, and cultural ties between the nations.
Furthermore, the consultations highlighted the significance of protecting the rights and interests of citizens and enterprises from both countries. Both sides expressed readiness for active cooperation in ensuring justice and legality in the activities of citizens and entrepreneurs.
The issue of transferring convicted persons was also on the agenda. Kyrgyzstan requested assistance from China in expediting the consideration of transferring convicted citizens from China to Kyrgyzstan. The need to enhance cooperation between the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of Justice of the People’s Republic of China was emphasized.
These consular consultations reflect the commitment of both countries to enhancing diplomatic ties and facilitating smoother interactions between their citizens. Such discussions pave the way for closer collaboration and mutual understanding in various areas of cooperation.
