In January 2025, Kyrgyzstan exported 372.6 kilograms of gold worth $31.2 million, according to a report from the National Statistical Committee. The primary buyer of the precious metal was the United Kingdom, which received 372 kilograms of gold during this period. A small additional shipment was also exported to Turkey.

However, it is worth noting that compared to the same period last year, gold exports have significantly declined. In January 2024, Kyrgyzstan sold over one ton of gold, with China and Switzerland being the main buyers.

From January to November 2024, Kyrgyzstan exported 16.1 tons of gold, totaling $1.26 billion. The recent decrease in gold exports highlights the fluctuations in the precious metal market and the impact on Kyrgyzstan’s economy. It will be interesting to see how the country navigates these changes in the coming months.
