“Travel Guide to Visiting Lavender Village: Location, Directions, and Best Time to Go”
Lavender Village: A Must-Visit Destination in Turkey
Lavender Village, also known as Lavender Scented Village, is the new go-to destination for visitors to Turkey. It is situated in Kuyucak village, which is part of the Keçiborlu district in Isparta, a province in the Mediterranean Region. Only 48 km away from Isparta city center and 15 km away from Keçiborlu district, the village is easily accessible by public transport or personal vehicle.
The Lavender Scented Village owes its newfound fame to the women of the village and the “Future is in Tourism” project, a collaboration between Anadolu Efes, TR Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and the United Nations Development Program. The project aims to promote sustainable tourism and brand villages and towns that produce products that are unique to their locality. The Lavender Scented Village project aims to raise awareness of the lavender grown in the region and its potential for production, providing new resources to the local community, and boosting the village’s economy.
Visitors can reach the village by car or public transportation. Buses running from Isparta Garage to Keçiborlu tourism represent the most convenient option for reaching the village by bus. For those traveling from Istanbul, they can opt to take the Osman Gazi Köprülü Bursa route or Ankara highway to reach Isparta to continue to Kuyucak village.
The best time to visit the Lavender Scented Village is from mid-June to the end of July when the lavender blooms, offering spectacular views of the village. However, visitors can go there anytime, but it’s unlikely they will see the lavender if they visit after early August when they start harvesting.
Visitors can stay in hostels run by Lavender Scented Village Women’s Initiative Production and Business Cooperative. However, it’s recommended to contact them in advance for arrangements.
Two nearby attractions are worth extending your visit to the region. First, you can see Lake Eğirdir, within Isparta’s borders, and Burdur’s Lake Salda. Visitors can plan to visit Eğirdir Lake and Lavender Scented Village on their first day. On the second day, they can visit Burdur early in the morning, see the ancient city of Sagalassos, and then visit Salda Lake’s beauty.
Lavender Village offers visitors the chance to escape the city’s bustle, immerse themselves in nature, and experience a village’s way of life. Don’t forget to capture the vivid colors of lavender in photographs and enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean region.
