A truck overturned on the Northern Marmara Highway, causing one person to be injured in the incident. The accident took place at around 18:00 in the Mecidiye location of the highway.
The truck, with plate number 34 DKE 878, was being driven by AY when it overturned while traveling in the direction of Istanbul. The driver lost control of the steering wheel, causing the truck to pass through the barriers and cross into the opposite lane.
Emergency services, including the police, gendarmerie, fire brigade, and medical team, quickly responded to the scene upon receiving notice of the accident. The driver, who was initially stuck in the overturned truck, was rescued by fire crews.
AY received first aid at the scene by medical teams before being taken to the hospital by ambulance. Thankfully, AY is reported to be in good health despite sustaining injuries in the accident.
Due to the overturned truck, there was traffic congestion in the area, but the situation returned to normal once the truck was removed from the scene.
The authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident and ensure the safety of all travelers on the Northern Marmara Highway.
