Turkish Women Painters Showcase Their Work in Paris Exhibition
A Stunning Exhibition of Turkish Female Painters Opens at Paris Yunus Emre Institute
The Paris Yunus Emre Institute recently hosted an exquisite exhibition in honor of March 8 International Women’s Day, showcasing the works of talented Turkish painters Melek Art, Suzan Ay, Zeliha Bozoğlu, and Figen Beğen. The exhibition was a celebration of female artists and was met with great admiration from both Turkish and French art enthusiasts.
The works of these four remarkable painters were displayed in two separate rooms at the institute, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the beauty and creativity of each piece. During the opening of the exhibition, the artists had the opportunity to interact with visitors and share their inspiration behind their works.
Painter Zeliha Bozoğlu, known for incorporating handmade lace and cross-stitch motifs of Anatolian women in her portrait works themed “From Future to Future”, showcased her captivating piece titled “Nomad Girl”, depicting a young girl in traditional attire. Melek Art wowed the audience with her vibrant colors, flower motifs, and intricate beadwork, showcasing her talent and experience gained from 36 years of exhibiting her works.
Figen Beğen’s paintings of birds in love, inspired by the teachings of Mevlana Celaleddin Rumi, and Suzan Ay’s innovative 3D artworks added a unique touch to the exhibition. Director Celine Aydın of the Paris Yunus Emre Institute also attended the opening night, where visitors were treated to a photography exhibition titled “In the Light of Women.”
Curated by Mehmet Aslan, the photography exhibition featured the works of talented Turkish women photographers, including those from the prestigious AA photojournalists. The entire event was a celebration of female creativity and talent, offering a platform for these artists to showcase their exceptional works to a diverse audience.
